2015 MERGE INtersections

INtersections, an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Dance Division and School of Music was produced in March 2015 by Ana Baer and Michelle Nance (co- directors of Merge) with the assistance of the Texas State’s production crew. Merge Dance Company premiered ten diverse choreographies incorporating live music and spoken word to evoke different moods. The Concert showcased the new work of choreographer Hieke Salzer (Germany), music compositions of Richard Hall and Gordon Jones, and featured special guests: Allegro Dance Company (Austin) and Texas A&M's Dance Department.
The Merge Dance Company is committed to presenting, on and off campus, multimedia performances with an aesthetic that weaves social/political art with high quality entertainment. The company consists of the Dance Division’s ethnically diverse, gifted students. Merge is a touring ensemble with the goal of recruiting populations who reflect Texas State’s multicultural mission. Merge was first formed in spring 2009 by the dance faculty.
